Weekend Wrap Up: Eagle Eye is Tops

Hey all… been pretty busy lately, mainly cleaning my room and having a birthday celebration (not for myself), hopefully I haven’t lost any of you!  The weekend is just about over, and it looks like Eagle Eye took the top of the box office, with 29.2 million in box office receipts!  This did go along with what I predicted (or did I, I don’t know if i made a prediction or not) in my Movies this Weekend! column.  Surprisingly, #2 was the Diane Lane/Richard Gere take, Nights in Rodanthe.  Here’s how the rest of the box office shaped up:

As for interesting thoughts about the weekend, I found out that it’s not always the rain that brings people out.  In fact, it poured here this weekend and not that many people came to the movies!  I ended up being pretty bored most of the day I was there.  I’m figuring that it really does matter how good the product is.  I don’t know, I actually think there are some really good films out there, I just haven’t gotten the chance to head out and check anything out!!!  Imagine that, running a movies blog and not being able to find the time to go out and actually see a movie.  I guess today could have been a movie day, but I ended up just watching football all day.  For those of you that did manage to make it out to theatres, what did you catch!?!?
