Last Weekend Wrap Up: Going 2 Africa

Looks like the down economy didn’t deter people from flocking to theatres this weekend. With the holiday on Tuesday, people took advantage of the extra time off and headed to the movies. While I wasn’t surprised at the film that ended up on top, the #2 did surprise me, especially being rated R. Here’s how the weekend box office numbers looked:

Who would’ve thought Role Models would have done that well. I actually heard it described as “the funniest movie ever”. I didn’t totally agree with that statement… will have my own review of it out in the next few days or so. High School Musical 3 also hung strong, bringing in a decent amount this. I have a feeling that next week may top this one in terms of the top movie grossing more… but this is still pretty impressive. I applaud people who still take the time to enjoy a movie in theatres!
